Good job Federer, way to give up a 178-0 record when winning the first two sets. Usually I'd be sad, but I'm just really fucking angry. There's no excuse for losing a 2 set lead. If anyone needs me, I'll be in bed, trying not to die.
John McEnroe: That’s.. I mean.. that’s like Baryshnikov. Ballet dancer. You can’t say that he was really in position here! That was like going backwards, being off your back foot, I don’t.. you don’t practice this, there’s no one.. even Federer doesn’t do that!
Yet, despite my face pressed against the glass door, I couldn’t help but be transported to lofty heights and uplifting sentiments that revolve around my fellow commuters’ patience, endurance, and bravery. I assume that everybody in this train, at least most of them, are on their way to work. It’s the rush hour, after all, and why would a bum or a pensioner join the massive throngs at this time unless he or she is a masochist who derives pleasure from feeling like a rose petal pressed between the pages of a book.
“If I were President, I’d definitely make sure there’s a budget allocated for education. I’d also make certain that the Reproductive Health Bill is passed. The RH bill is not perfect in its form right now, but it is an urgent need. I’d also prioritize arts education. When arts are sacrified, the academics suffer as well. I’d create projects that would foster livelihood among the urban and rural poor. It can’t be a “give-man-a-fish” thing; we should have a “teach-man-to-fish” mentality. Dole-outs are not the solution. We need to provide access to jobs and give people the dignity to be able to provide for their families.”—Lea Salonga (Philippine Daily Inquirer, December 26, 2010)
